When all others rush or think about making common RPA case studies on different domains, Alzone had thought it smartly and hit the field of biotechnology where no one can even imagine which process could be automated. We had implemented RPA in the core enterprise lab operations for an Indian biotechnology company spread over 200 service centres in India and the GCC countries. They provide comprehensive stem cells solutions with a complete spectrum of services including multi-service stem cell banking, R&D, stem cell clinical trials and stem cell therapy. As part of digital transformation, they had collaborated with Alzone software and using RPA technologies we had successfully automated the process of analysing the samples for Maternal Cell Contamination (MCC) percentage calculation process
The company receives a substantial amount of prenatal and maternal specimen samples to perform MCC analysis and other chromosomal diagnosis. Generating genetic difference details results (TIF and text files) and updating zoom in factor for each sample was the pain area and time-consuming process for them. Here Alzone had leveraged a bot to automate the entire business process by launching an application called Genemapper. Bot launches this application and adds the samples then analyse and generates each sample’s TIF and text files, from this text file bot calculates the zoom in factor value for each sample and the output of Genemapper process is provided as the input for MCC and other diagnosis processes. When bot started working benefits is as follows:
- Manually this process takes almost 20min to complete each sample whereas bots take only 5 min for each sample to complete process
- 100% accurate results and eliminates error completely
- Doctors are able to utilize their valuable time for other operations where they can do more innovative or creative tasks which requires more human interventions

In this way Alzone had kick started with RPA technologies in the field of biotechnology. We had implemented a perfect solution for their most suffered area with a software robot to complete their lab processes as faster than earlier. This automation had helped our client to get rid of most of the repetitive mundane tasks and to manage their time for more focused areas.
